Darrah House a Bucks County Bed and Breakfast
It was a clear, crisp March day in 1849. Robert Darrah was strolling contentedly, hands clasped behind his back, as he contemplated the suitability of this section of his many acres as the site of his long-dreamed-of manor house. Today, you are invited to stay at Darrah House and enjoy one of our rooms while you explore charming Bucks County. It’s a short, pleasant trip to the antique centers and art galleries of Lambertville/New Hope, the unique shops of Peddler’s Village, the charm and history of Doylestown, and even the hustle and bustle of our nation’s first capital - Philadelphia - not to mention golf, tubing, fishing, theatre. It’s all here, waiting for you at Bucks County’s finest bed & breakfast, Darrah House.
Spend the day exploring, antiquing, and shopping at Peddler’s Village, then come home to a relaxing afternoon tea at Darrah House, and spend the night in one of four individually-decorated rooms. Awaken the next morning to a three-course gourmet breakfast served in the dining room or al fresco on the patio.
Our Rooms. Four large, high-ceilinged, luxurious guest rooms all rooms have private, modern bathrooms. Corporate rates are available for business travelers staying with us frequently. The corporate traveler enjoys the same amenities, quiet environment, hot breakfast, and has access to high-speed internet connections. All rooms are appointed with Robes by “Robe Works”, Cable television with VCR, Unique and exquisite decor, Iron and ironing board, Hair dryer, Air-Conditioning, Refrigerator w/ light refreshments, Coffee and Tea accoutrements. A three-course gourmet breakfast served on fine china in the elegant dining room.
Spa and Fitness. We have partnered with Doylestown Hospital’s Health & Wellness Center. Guests may use the fitness facility (at no cost), and arrangements can be made for facials, manicures, pedicures, waxing, make-up services, and massages at The Spa, all within ten minutes of Darrah House
Romance Package. For that special get-away weekend with that special person, a dozen assorted roses, a box of assorted chocolates and a complimentary split of champagne waiting in your room upon arrival, or, a mixed bouquet of flowers and box of chocolates.
Darrah House is a quiet destination for adults to get away from the high stress levels of every day life. Well-behaved children over 15 are welcome. In the interest of your health and the safety of all guests, we maintain a non-smoking environment at Darrah House. We all miss our pets when we are away, but as this is a private residence, as well as a bed and breakfast inn, pets just wouldn’t be a comfortable fit. If you are really feeling deserted, one of our resident cats will be happy to keep you company.
