Germantown Settlement
Germantown Settlement, a multi-purpose human service agency, was founded January 20, 1884 by 18 women for the purposes of starting a free kindergarten and day care program and assisting German-Quaker immigrants with getting settled in a new environment.
The organization, originally named the Morton Street Day Nursery and Free Kindergarten Center, experienced several name changes.
