Recycled Paper: Exploring the Myths
Paper and paper products are the largest single component of society’s waste stream. The movement to recycle paper and manufacture products is primarily an effort to reduce the amount of costly, disposable waste. When we choose to use recycled paper for our businesses and homes, we don't have to sacrifice quality. Recycled paper is readily available in many high quality grades meeting the same technical specifications as virgin (tree) paper. The quality of recycled paper has improved significantly over the years, so that it performs well in office copiers, fax machines, printers and printing machines.
Recycled Paper Products
We cannot deny the importance of paper products in our life. However, we should not forget that paper is made from one of the most valuable resources on this planet – trees. For every sheet of virgin paper used, trees must be cut. Paper products generally have a short life cycle and are thrown away after being used. Trees, on the other hand, take many years to grow. In North America many forests are cut and later turned into tree farms. Tree farms are not biologically diverse and the result is a worldwide loss of wildlife habitat and soil erosion.
Packaging
We reuse shipping cartons. No new boxes are used for shipping our products unless they are already manufacturer packaged. Please use them again. We pack cartons without using polystyrene foam/"peanuts" or plastics. Our cartons are packed with recyclable paper or biodegradable "peanuts".
Promotional Materials
Only post-consumer recycled or tree-free fiber paper will be used for our catalogs or any other promotional materials. Additionally, we do not sell customer names to other marketing concerns.
