Dental Implants:
Implants can be a key step to improving your image and the way you go about your everyday life. Luckily, the process is not too complicated at all. The first step involves placing a titanium root that will be totally covered by your gums. After 3 to 6 months, the root will fuse to the bone to provide the foundation for your new tooth. The second step is the uncovering of the implants and attaching an abutment to each. This completes the foundation and your new teeth will be ready to be placed. An abutment is first set before the teeth can be attached. Once this is done the last step is the placement of your new teeth. Dr. Freedman will make sure each implant is the appropriate size, color, and shape to make sure the new tooth will blend in perfectly for you.
Immediate Load and Same Day Teeth
At Dr. Freedman's office you can also come in for what is called "immediate load." It is possible to come to Dr. Freedman's office, needing new teeth or a complete set, and leave that day with a new tooth or set of teeth. With this you skip the few month period of the titanium root bonding to the bone. Instead this happens in just one visit. This "immediate load" is a service very unique to Dr. Freedman's office and is not offered by many of dental practices.
These implant procedures are offered with the help of Dr. Freedman's friend and Periodontal Associate, Dr. Scott Gradwell. Dr. Gradwell works in Allentown and is the Assistant Director of Lehigh Valley Hospital's Dental Division. Dr. Gradwell has worked in a partnership with Dr. Freedman since 1988. Dr. Gradwell received his specialty training in Periodontics at Temple University. Dr. Gradwell has also received extra training in implantology from the major implant companies such as Nobel Biocare and Implant Innovations. He is a frequent lecturer on a regional level along with Dr. Freedman. Dr. Gradwell is a competent and key member of the implant team at Dr. Freedman's office.
