Monart is more than a method that teaches people to draw. Monart School of Art
Since 1979, Monart has been taught around the world. The Monart method has achieved astounding results with children and adults without previous training or “talent.” A desire to learn to draw is all that is required.
Each week the lesson is planned by the instructor on a particular theme, giving enough structure to insure success, and enough freedom for independent creativity. In a non-competitive, peaceful environment students are taught that there is no wrong way to draw. The curriculum is balanced and includes a wide range of subjects and media.

CLASS DESCRIPTION
Getting Ready, Basic Drawing, Basic Drawing for Teens and Adults, and Mixed Media classes are guided in representational drawing. Projects included: buildings, human form, portraits, flowers, still life, vehicles, animals, and characters. Various media are used: watercolors, pastels, graphic, colored pencil, oil pastels, and markers. Some creative activities have been added to the curriculum to enhance the drawings we will be doing. This includes clay, Shrink art, paper sculpture, and beading.
Getting Ready- (4 1/2-5 1/2 yrs.; 45 min.)
An introduction to drawing the real world geared to the attention span and motor coordination of the younger child. Children master the elements of shape and combine them to draw age appropriate projects with direction from the instructor. Creativity is encouraged.
Basic Drawing- (5 1/2 to 8 yrs.; 1 hr.)
A representational drawing class geared to the attention span and motor coordination of elementary students. Children master the ability to recognize the elements of shape, and use them in drawing projects, with direction from the instructor, designed for their age. Creativity is encouraged.
Mixed Media- (8 1/2 yrs. to Adults- 1 ? hr.) Basic Drawing for Teens and Adults- 2 hrs:

Independent Studies- (Teens, Adults and previous recommended students; 1 ? -2 hr.)
Students create their own projects using various resources with advanced techniques taught in oil painting, tempera painting, watercolors, oil pastels, pen and ink, scratchboard, graphite, colored pencil, pastels, charcoal, mixed media figure drawing, portrait drawing, still life, and perspective.
