Antique Auto Museum at Hershey
The Museum opened to the public on June 26, 2003. AACA Museum is professionally staffed, collecting institution presenting semi-permanent and temporary exhibitions. Exhibitions are supported by educational programs for school and community audiences. It sponsors workshops, and other activities designed to raise public awareness and appreciation of the role that the automobile has played in shaping 20th century America. The museum also celebrates the role of the collector in preserving and making assessable a material record of this phenomenon. Our Exhibitions. The Museum collection currently numbers over 150 vehicles, all of which have been donated. Exhibited vehicles are rotated regularly. At any given time, you can see 85-100 of these classic cars and trucks on display. Collection vehicles span almost a century of American motoring from the 1895 Chicago Motor Benton Harbor to a 1977 Chrysler Cordoba with “fine Corinthian leather” seats. You’ll also see trucks and special vehicles like a 1924 REO Funeral Hearse and a 1935 Autocar Atlantic Tank Truck, as well as rare vehicles like our four magnificent Stearns-Knights and a pair of 1917 Pierce Arrows that were “retired” to the museum after decades of use. The Cammack Gallery features several special exhibitions each year. Changing exhibitions focus on specific manufacturers, vehicle types, and historical themes. The Museum of Bus Transportation is the largest collection of buses on display under one roof in the United States! A dozen buses and an illustrated timeline trace the history of bus transportation -from the days of crank starts and wicker seats to full-sized motor coaches complete with uniformed hostesses. Valentine Diner is a Photo Area where you can have your picture taken behind the wheel of a vintage car, and a selection of vehicles from the Museum’s permanent collection. The museum also displays a 1926 Pierce Arrow touring sedan that chauffered stars from Paramount Studios to their homes in the Hollywood Hills during the Roaring Twenties. Education Programs. We offer a wide variety of educational tours for grades pre-K to twelve. Tours support State Curriculum Standards in History, English, Math, Economics, Science and Technology and are generally available Monday through Thursday from 9:30 – 2:00. Tours are presented with an eye toward the curriculum and the age level of the group. Facility Rentals. As you enter the expansive lobby adorned with rare automobiles, a towering 50-ft ceiling and tile floors, your guests will know this is a special place. The Antique Auto Museum at Hershey is an impressive special event venue that has quickly gained the reputation as one of Pennsylvania's most unique places for a wedding reception, cocktail reception, banquet or corporate event.
